Mijn herinneringen aan mijn vader Wilgo Baarn

My beloved father passed away on 07-07-2017
I know he is at peace…

But I am still trying to deal with the magnitude of it all…
He was my first soul mate and reference point
He shaped my perspective on Africa and our cultural heritage…
He respected me…and set the standard for every other person that entered my life…
He encouraged my passion for and commitment to the wellbeing of our nation and community…
Although politics were not his means of activism, He was the first Pan Africanist I met…even before I knew what the term stood for…

He was a cultural activist…armed with drums voices and dance steps he truly believed that we connect through, live through, heal through and love through art…
He was modest, integer and believed in honouring the dignity of every man, woman and child…
He was not a saint, but he was my hero…

Waka bun mi lobi papa..S’ramacca liba e kele…
